The AWS China (Beijing) region, operated by Sinnet, provides a service platform similar to other AWS regions globally. Developers can efficiently deploy cloud applications in China using the same APIs, protocols, and standards that AWS global customers use. Customer data stored in the China (Beijing) region stays within that region unless transferred elsewhere by the customer. Data is not moved between AWS regions or outside of China.
The China (Beijing) region, AWS's first in China, is operated through a partnership with Beijing Sinnet Technology Co., Ltd. This partnership allows AWS to leverage Sinnet’s infrastructure in Beijing and surrounding areas to provide high-quality cloud services in China. It helps local enterprises innovate and expand rapidly with secure, reliable, and cost-effective IT resources.
To access AWS services in China, customers must create a separate Amazon Web Services (China) account. This account is distinct from other global AWS accounts, and only users with an AWS (China) account can access services within the China (Beijing) region. Customers wishing to use AWS regions outside China must create a global AWS account.
