In alignment with China's national "dual carbon" goals and to encourage the green transformation of the industry, the Shanghai Municipal Economic and Information Commission has implemented multiple measures to enhance data center energy management, improve energy efficiency, and guide enterprises in accelerating the green and low-carbon transformation of data centers. Outstanding industry cases are selected to recognize these efforts.

Sinnet has consistently embraced a green development philosophy, promoting energy-efficient construction and low-carbon innovation in its data centers. Recently, Sinnet’s Shanghai Jiading Cloud Computing Center was awarded the 2024 Shanghai Intelligent Computing Center Green Technology Excellent Energy-Saving Case Award, due to its "green energy saving, stability, and high efficiency."

Sinnet integrates the concept of sustainability throughout the entire life cycle of its data centers, from design to operation. The company continues to optimize energy conservation and emission reduction strategies, focusing on energy-saving transformations, adjusting operational strategies, enhancing systems, and incorporating green technologies. The Shanghai Jiading Cloud Computing Center is located in the Jiading Industrial Zone, Shanghai. It is a large-scale, high-standard, customized green data center park, designed, operated, and maintained independently by Sinnet. The project has received multiple certifications, including UPTIME Tier 4, China Quality Certification Center Infrastructure Class A, and Information System Room Power and Environmental System Class A certifications. Guided by the operating principles of "safety, efficiency, green, and low-carbon," the Jiading Cloud Computing Center adheres to green operations while continuously optimizing energy conservation efforts.

The center employs advanced energy-saving measures, such as high-voltage variable frequency chillers, intelligent lighting systems, cooling towers, water pumps, and precision air conditioners. By optimizing operations and integrating various energy-saving technologies, Sinnet reduces the energy consumption of its equipment. Additionally, the center actively utilizes renewable and clean energy, installing photovoltaic modules and integrating solar power generation systems into low-voltage power grids to maximize renewable energy usage for self-generation and immediate consumption.

This time, the Shanghai Jiading Cloud Computing Center won the 2024 Shanghai Intelligent Computing Center Green Technology-Waste Heat Utilization Achievement Award for its waste heat recovery project. The center uses a water source heat pump waste heat recovery system to recover the waste heat generated by the data center, which is then used for heating in the winter. In the summer, the recovered heat is transferred to the data center’s air conditioning system to improve cooling efficiency.

Sinnet has embedded the green and low-carbon development strategy into the entire lifecycle of data center design, construction, and operation.
